Getting IT
Posted June,06,2007 by Pete Manca
If you get a chance, read Jim Burton’s blog (IDEAS International) on our new vBlade software. This is a guy who gets it. As Jim rightly points out, it’s about breaking the binds between servers and IO infrastructure, something we have been doing here since our inception. Few analysts, and even fewer vendors, seem to understand the complexity and cost that is associated with traditional server architectures – whether they are blades, racks, or towers.
The traditional architecture creates a tight bind between processing and IO, which is the main culprit in creating overly-complex, hard to maintain data centers. Breading those binds is the key to creating a more agile data center that can server the business, rather than the other way around. Way to go Jim!
